COLLEGE SOCCER IS BACK!!!

College Soccer is back!! The question is: "What do we know about College Soccer?" If you say, players play in the high level in college, clock running down from 45:00 to 0:00 in both halves, 2 10-minute overtime periods (golden goal), or any of these things that came into your mind, you are absolutely correct!!

Recently, I accepted an opportunity to call both men's and women's soccer matches for Lawrence Tech University (based in Southfield, MI) starting next week. My thoughts about college soccer is that players are making their presence felt to get into the NCAA Soccer Tournament and hopefully become National Champions. But when it comes to college soccer, it's a make or break moment for some of the players in the men's and women's division to show their talents once they get into the professional level, because college soccer has great talent and excellent physical abilities.

My prep, however, will be different than what I did with Oakland County FC. The folder for all the rosters, stats, and everything will be the same, but with one exception. I want to color-code the numbers of the teams and the names as well, because when they re-enter in the second half, I'll take the player who subbed off the field and replace the one who comes on the field and it'll be simple as that!! And let's not forget that I recently created the college soccer time table (I'll show it to you on game day) just in case you may know that when the clock winds down, you know what minute the game is on. In case we go to overtime, the chart goes down to two 10-minute OT Periods and if someone scores in OT, the game is over, but if no one scores after two OT Periods, the game ends in a draw. In the tournament, it's the same thing, but it'll go to penalties.

So, that's what I have to do and I can't wait to get started for the fall soccer season! Time to dust off the spotting boards and time to prep!! I'll see you guys on the other side!!
